WOW! Ok just back from this last tour. Talk about a ROAD
TRIP!!! lol Tristan put over 5,000 miles on the ol'
DigiTruck engine. We went from Utah to Washington, back
to Utah, Idaho, Colorado, and Indiana. It was AWESOME!
The Rikk Beatty Band performed in Washington which
was
a blast. I got to hear Jason Lamb's band "Swamp
Donkeys" in Utah at Discount Music in Bountiful Utah
which was ALLOT of fun. The store guys are GREAT
there and I highly recommend going. I went to an
awesome store in Colorado called "Spotlight Music". The
store owner there has known a good friend of mine Rich
Harris as long as I have! I swear its such a small world.
Then of course we went to Sweetwater in Indiana. They
treated us to a concert from Tower of Power the night
before and then one heck of an event the next day! This
store is BEYOND amazing. I mean it has a cafeteria, a
performing arts center, a studio, a dvd rental department,
and inside it's HUGE building, every department of the
music store has its own STORE! THIS guy knows how to
build a music store that musicians could literally spend all
day in!!!

We recorded some live material and footage of the band
this time out that I will be posting on the site soon. I tell
ya.... who could ask for a better job?!?!? And of course I
could not do it without my partners in crime Tristan and
Paul. The absolute best people to work with!!

Its been a while since I have written in here. I have been
keeping a journal on the road but there is just so much I
get to see and so many cool people and so many fun
times.... Its hard to write about it all, take pictures of it all,
and post it all. I tell ya I need help with updating my
website! My job is as amazing as it was the first day. It just
keeps getting better and better. NAMM was amazing. I got
to play 30 performances in 4 days! I had people like
Slash, Jennifer Batten, and Yngwie Malmsteen see me
play! THAT was awesome! You know its funny... I feel like
most of my "musical life" I was watching this train go by at
200 MPH and it was just impossible to catch. That train of
course was making music a career. I feel like back in
October Digitech made a pitstop for a millisecond. Just
long enough for me to jump onboard. I will be forever
grateful to Paul and Digitech for giving me the chance.

Man where do I start.....? Ok within the last few months I
have been having the time of my life on the Digitruck. I
have played with some incredible musicians like Dave
Martone and the Travis Larson Band and have got to do
some incredible things as well. I also got a couple new
endorsements that I am very proud of. I got endorsed
through Ibanez and Dimarzio. Like Digitech, I have used
Ibanez and Dimarzio products just about since I began
playing guitar. All in all this has been an incredible year
and I can only hope next year is as good if not better.
Plans are moving along to start recording the new album
and Dave Martone and Travis Larson will both be doing a
guest appearance on the album!!!

Speaking of perks... last night I got to deliver some gear to
Steve Vai at his show in Seattle and got to tour the stage
and look at all the gear and speak to everyone there. It
was an incredible night!! Vai's crew is very hospitable and
Vai is an incredible artist. Not just because of his music
though... after a long day and a full performance, he sat
down and listened to stories, took pictures, and signed
every autograph of at least 100 fans after the show. THAT
is what makes him an incredible artist. Oh and the new
version of "For the Love of God" was nothing short of
AMAZING!!!!

Hey folks. Well BIG news. I just became the new full time
clinician for Digitech. I will constantly be on tour on their
incredible Digitruck tour across the USA. Aside from my
band's shows I will be performing over 180 shows a year
for Digitech as well!!! Check out
Digitech DIGITRUCK
USA Tour      for more details. This job is a dream to me.
To be paid full time for playing guitar. If you are a
musician.... need I say more than that?!?! BUT the job is
incredible. It has perks and more perks and I am and will
be forever grateful for the opportunity Digitech has given
me to live my dream. Check the show dates for a city near
you! See ya on the road!!!

Hey folks. Well there have been some changes in the
band. Fish is now the rhythm guitar player in the band and
we are looking for a bass player. If you know of a good
bassist let me know! We all appreciate all the hard work
and dedication Raff put into the band and wish him well on
all his future music projects. Raff has been and remains a
great friend. Also the band Humptulips has been gigging
quite a bit. We are getting into the casinos now and will be
playing at the Lucky Dog Casino and Little Creek Casino
in Shelton. Keep checking the concert schedule for dates!
Also I just picked up a new endorsement through Pedal
Snake
www.pedalsnake.com ANYONE who has a pedal
board needs to check these guys out. It is incredible!!! 1
cable to carry all of your power, MIDI, and 1/4" cables to
your board. No more mess of a million cables!! Below are
pictures of my pedal board setup before and after:

Hello everyone I just thought I would chime in and tell you
things are coming along. Fish and I have been working on
some new tunes for the album and we will also be working
on tunes from the Pointing at the Moon album to play live.
Some of these will be slight variations but we think you will
be happily surprised. Due to vacation schedules and
whatnot we are still looking at a few months before we
start recording. We will be recording the drums up north in
a separate studio and then thanks to Pro Tools and the
Waves Diamond Bundle software we will be finishing the
recording down here in Olympia. We are playing most of
our shows in the Olympia/Lakewood area right now but
plan on branching out farther north and south within the
next few months. So if we are not in your area yet keep
checking back and hopefully we will be there soon. Keep
checking back with us and thanks for all of your support!!

Saturday night's show was amazing. I want to thank
everyone that was able to come out. We definitely had our
best show to date and of course randy Hansen was off the
chart. If you were there... you actually got to experience a
Jimi Hendrix concert. It was amazing. Randy WAS Jimi
when he was on stage. The tone, the moves, the
passion... it was incredible. I recorded our set and have it
on DVD. I am still thinking about whether we will release it
as a DVD for sale or not but in the meantime if you want
one, email me your address and PAYPAL me $5.00
tocover the cost of the DVD and shipping and I will send
you one. Email me at: rikk@rikkbeatty.com

Here are a couple pics from the show of Randy:

Well we had a photoshoot this past weekend with an
amazing photographer named John Gerecht. Do a search
on the net and you will see some of his incredible work.
Thanks to John we now have our 8x10's being made up
and press kits ready to start booking shows. We are
hoping to get to play Super Saturday's Main Stage again
at the Evergreen State College. A new song has been
written called "Anthem" and its a STRONG tune that will
get your attention. It will definitely be on the new album.
We are working hard and trying to get a solid 45 minute
set together to start playing shows by June. We of course
have hours of material but with new members we all have
to get tight on the material which takes time. We are all
very excited and hope to see you out there very soon!!

Well Kings Highway went out with loud fizzle.... After
months of waiting and deliberating I decided to start up my
instrumental solo stuff again. We held auditions for
drummers and we found an incredible drummer by the
name of Jonathon Jay. He resides in Seattle and makes
the long commute along with our bass player Fish. Joing
the band is another new member Rafael Gelpi on Rhythm
Guitar. We should start scheduling shows in 2 months or
so and 98% of the material you will hear will be new
material from the upcoming "Guitar Farm" album!!! We
plan on doing another tour late this year down through
Oregon and California again. We are all very excited and
ready to get out there and RAWK for ya!! Keep checking
back for more updates!!

I have joined a new band called "Kings Highway" (and no
its not a religious band... lol). The band's name is derived
from a Tom Petty song. The band's music is in the style of
ELO, Tom Petty, The Smithereens..... and we will be
recording a new demo soon. I am still working on my solo
stuff as well. Keep checking back to hear, read, and see
more!

Well things change constantly and I went from recording a
demo with the Country band to recording a Christmas
album. Not sure how that happened but oh well! So the
Christmas album is done. Its titled "Winter's Song" and is
all instrumental. The style is Latin and Folk and is a mix of
traditional Christmas songs as well as my interpretations.

Another VERY cool thing happened. At the beginning of
the year I submitted my press kit to have my name
included in the Independent Artist Registry (the nation's
LARGEST talent scouting agency) book. The IAR works
with the nation's top 100 record labels in finding bands for
signing as well as touring. Literally thousands of press kits
were received and only 34 were selected including me!!

My press kit was then sent to the top 100 record labels
(Columbia, Sony, Epic.....) letting them know I was
inducted into the registry. I am anxious to see where this
takes me!!

10-12-05
We start recording our demo tonight. The rest of the guys
in the band were previously in a band called "Hump
Tulips". They still had a couple gigs scheduled so we will
be performing those gigs at the end of this month (22nd
and 23rd). Hopefully the demo will be completed by the
end of December and starting in January I will FINALLY
start recording my new instrumental album.

09-10-05
Well at this time I am doing a side project called "County
Line" and we have played some really good shows so far. I
am having allot of fun with this band and the cool thing is
that it is a style of music I have never played before
(Country). Hold on hold on hold on...... before you make a
judgement you need to hear us. The music is just rockin
and its sound is akin to Skynyrd, .38 Special.....

We will release a demo soon and in about 3 months or so I
will start recording my new instrumental album FINALLY!!!!

05-28-05
The new site is coming along and I am about ready to
publish it. We are rehersing for the show coming up and
are adding 3 more songs from the new album to the
setlist. Practice is coming along very well and I am excited
to get out there playing again after being away for so long.

We should start recording for the new album any time
within the next couple months.
